It's been quite a while, and I'm sorry. But I do have GREAT news to share with you! I QUIT MY JOB. It's true. I'M A FREE BIRD! It's been a long time coming, and the main thing that has been holding me back from Project DOG, and it needed to go. I had a rough spring, but thanks to Project DOG I made it through, and June 3rd was my first day of liberation! I'm following my dreams and it feels great! I'm ready to explode in the dog world and I can't wait to see where this adventure takes me!
Since June 3rd, I have been shooting like mad. Like a crazy person. I decided before I let my job that it would be a step in the right direction to first launch a Project DOG San Francisco book - featuring all the different dog breeds living in the Bay Area - both a purebred and rescued dog of each breed of course (if I can find them!). I separated all of my submissions (almost 3,000 of them!) and was let with just over 600 submissions in the Bay Area. I have been shooting all of the more "rare" breeds first and in the last 2 weeks I have photographed over 50 dogs (about 5-8 a day). I am shooting another 50 or so in the next two weeks too. It's insane, I'm tired, completely physically exhausted, but I love it. Almost every day I've had a 7:30am photoshoot, booking sessions back to back, the last one at 6:30pm. KRAY! Yesterday I left my house at 6am, and got home at 8pm... omggg! It's all good!
Guess what else?!! ZIPCAR is sponsoring my Bay Area transportation for all of these photoshoots. It's so awesome and I am so happy and grateful. Could you imagine doing this without a car? I can't, but I would figure out a way to do it anyway.
I'm posting a blooper/outtake pic for ya.... it's Eamon the Irish Terrier, one of my favorite dogs so far. He was a hoot!
I don't have time to write much more right now but I'll show you some more pics soon. If you check out the Project DOG Facebook page, you can see more outtakes!
Gotta go but I'll ttys!
